Joseph Heard 
Joseph was born in 1760 in Cumberland Co., NC.1 Joseph's father was Charles Christmas Heard and his mother was Isabella. His paternal grandfather was CHARLES HEARD and his paternal grandmother is Isabella. He had six brothers and a sister, named Leonard, Stephen, John, Richard, George, William Henry and No. 40. He died at the age of 75 in 1835 in Alabama.1 General Notes

Joseph died intestate, land to be sold and procedes dived among heirs. Charles A. Heard, John R. Heard, Jesse Williams in right of his wife Elizabeth, fromerly Elizabeth Heard, Bradford Cade in right of his wife Isabella, formerly Isabella Heard, John S. Walker in right of his wife Ann, formerly Ann Heard, William C. Heard, all residents of GA and Thomas A. Heard, Joseph M. Heard, Stephen S. Heard, Ephraim V. Heard, residents of Perry Co., AL, all of full age, Jane Heard, Frances Heard, Martha Heard, Sarah Heard, Jesse Heard, and James Heard, minors under the age of 21 and residents of Perry Co., AL. Hearing set for 1st Fri in Dec., 1836, Open Court, Perry Co., AL
