Shirley was born in 1892.1   Shirley's father was Henry Jason Eby and her mother was Ella G. Lock.  Her paternal grandparents were Warren Eby and Virginia Locke. She had four brothers and a sister, named Eugene, Henry, William W., John J. and Julia Ann.  She is the youngest of the six children.
