John J. was born on September 10th, 1888.1   John J.'s father was Henry Jason Eby and his mother was Ella G. Lock.  His paternal grandparents were Warren Eby and Virginia Locke. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Eugene, Henry, William W., Julia Ann and Shirley.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 62 in 1950.1
