Minerva was born in 1831 in Logan Co., Virginia.1 Minerva's father was Peter Dingess and her mother is Sarah Farley. Her paternal grandparents were JOHANNES Peter Dingess and MARY Smith. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Guy, William Anderson, John, Charles F., Matilda, Polly, Julia Y. and Harriet. She is the second youngest of the nine children.-
