Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Bailey and Priscilla Cooke. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Lewis Washington, Andrew Mathers, James Grant, Squire Ulysses Grant, Thomas H., John K., Cornelia Jane and Fannie Belle. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 67 on November 3rd, 1931 in Wyoming Co., West Virginia.
