Smith Thompson Van Buren 
Smith Thompson was born on June 16th, 1817 in Hudson, New York.1 Smith Thompson's father was Martin Abrahamse Van Buren and his mother was Hannah Hoes. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Martense Van Buren and Maria Hoes. He had four brothers named Abraham Martinse, John Martinse, Martin Martinse and Lawrence Martinse. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 59 in 1876.1 General Notes
