Edwin Upshaw

Edwin was born about 1763 in , Essex, Virginia. Edwin's father was John Horace Upshaw and his mother was Mary Lafon. His paternal grandparents were William Upshaw and Hannah Forrest; his maternal grandparents are Nicholas Lafon and Elizabeth Sthreshly. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John Horace, William, Sarah, Lucy, Maria, Hannah and Cordelia. He is the oldest of the eight children.
