Nelson Rife Thaxton 
Nelson Rife was born on December 16th, 1867 in Kanawha Co., WV. Nelson Rife's father was James David Thaxton and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Miller. His paternal grandparents were Robert Clarkson Thaxton and Sarah Fore; his maternal grandfather was Joseph H. Miller and his maternal grandmother is Rebecca Fisher. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Albert B., Sylvester Handy, Lang Burn, Walter Cephes, Joseph Robert, Paul Manuel "Mann", Silas Manuel, Flint Perry and Martha Alice. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 90 on December 7th, 1958 in Kanawha Co., WV.-
