Howard Hansen was born on March 27th, 1882 in Kanawha Co., WV. Howard Hansen's father was General George Washington Thaxton and his mother was Sophia Spriggle. His paternal grandparents were Monroe Scott Thaxton and Sarah Jane Thomas; his maternal grandparents are John Spriggle and Eliza Humphrey. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Frederick H., Edgar Stanton, E.L., Delbert Clarence, George L., Herman, Otis Raymond, Earl Washington, Marjorie M., Mamie J., Lannie and Hazel G.. He was the third oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 76 on October 17th, 1958 in Kanawha Co., WV.-
