Samuel Pleasant Stover

Samuel Pleasant was born on January 1st, 1829.  Samuel Pleasant's father was John  J. Stover and his mother was Catherine Mary Hartman.  His maternal grandparents are John Hartman and Mary Hunter. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Jacob B., John Wesley, Silvanus(Saul) Harper, George Washington, James L., William P., David H., Benjamin Franklin, Mary M, Susan and Harriet Permelia.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 89 on December 7th, 1918 in Charleston, Kanawha, WV.  He was buried in Hill Cemetery, Rock Castle, West Virginia.

‌Samuel Pleasant and Eliza Jane were married in a religious ceremony on October 27th, 1856 in Mason, West Virginia.  They had nine sons and a daughter, named Jarriet Hill, John William, James Rankin, Jonathan M., Andrew George, Henry Harrison, Lewis F., Virginia H, Samuel Pleasant and Mary Catherine.
