William McDonough

William was born in 1785 in , , North Carolina.  William's father was Andrew C. McDonough and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Patterson.  His paternal grandfather was Andrew McDonough and his paternal grandmother is Mary UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and a sister, named Andrew C., Henry, James, Ransom, John, Calvin and Elizabeth.  He is the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Mary Polly.
