John H was born in 1760 in Botetourt, VA. John H's father was CHARLES WOODLEY KING and his mother is Rebecca BESS. His paternal grandfather was Charles King and his paternal grandmother is Mary James. He had three brothers and a sister, named William Howes, WILLIAM HOWES, UNKNOWN and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named William H., David, Joshua and Miss. He died at the age of 80 in 1840 in Rich Patch, Alleghany, VA.-
