William Richard was born on February 8th, 1859 in Kanawha County WV.1 William Richard's father was Robert Thomas Jenkins and his mother was Catherine P. Lynn. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Robert Jenkins and Martha Booker Fore. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Robert, Henry Albert, Martha Jane, Minnie Katherine, Dora A, Cora Ann, Hettie Ujenia and Fannie Chambers. He is the second oldest of the nine children.-
