James I Hamilton 
James I was born about 1385 in Cadzow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. James I's father was James Hamilton and his mother was Janet Douglas. His paternal grandparents were David Hamilton and Janet Keith; his maternal grandparents were James Douglas and Agnes Dunbar. He had two brothers and a sister, named David, Walter and Margery Catherine. He was the oldest of the four children. He died before May 1441 in Kinneil House, Bo'ness, West Lothian, Scotland.General Notes
