Janet was born about 1390 in Scotland. Janet's father was William Keith and her mother was Mary Margaret Fraser. Her paternal grandfather was Edward De KEITH and her paternal grandmother is Isabella De SYNTON; her maternal grandfather was Alexander Fraser and her maternal grandmother is Mary Bruce. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Alexander, Robert, John, Christian, Muriella, Margaret, Elizabeth and Christian. She was the youngest of the ten children.
