Mathew GILLESPIE 
Mathew was born on July 23rd, 1788 in Greenville Co., Sc. Mathew's father was John GILLESPIE and his mother was Jane HARVEY. His paternal grandparents were William GILLESPIE and Mary Clendenin; his maternal grandfather is William HARVEY. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Robert Harvey, Rebecca, Mary and Isabell. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 82 on May 16th, 1871 in S. Mills River, Henderson Co.. He was buried in Gillespie/sitton Cem., S. Mills River, Henderson Co., Nc.General Notes
