Sarah Elizabeth was born in 1850. Sarah Elizabeth's father was William Harrison Epperson and her mother was Mary M. Dulaney. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen T. Epperson and Elizabeth (Polly) Wolfe. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named John W., Stephen Floyd, Isaac S., Joseph H. Clint, Louise E., Polly Janette, Minerva L., Elzia A.P., Caroline V., Alice M., Mollie B. and Margaret I.. She is the third oldest of the thirteen children.-
