George Washington Epperson

George Washington was born on October 25th, 1857 in Hancock County, Tennessee. George Washington's father was James Nelson Epperson and his mother was Martha Barnett. His paternal grandfather was John Calvin Epperson and his paternal grandmother is Fanny Ogan. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named John A., William C., Thomas Jefferson, Henry C., James F., Charley Smith, Nelson Brownlow, Nancy M., Mary Allas and Allie Jane. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 80 on June 2nd, 1938 in Grainger Co., Tennessee. He was buried in Epperson Cemetery, Hancock Co, TN, Dry Valley Rd 1/2 Mile past Paw Paw Hollow Church, Old Vol Green place owned by Joe H.

‌George Washington and Rhoda "Rhodie" were married in a religious ceremony in 1879 in Hancock Co., Tennessee. They had four sons and five daughters, named William Nelson, Charles T., Henry Clay, Leonard, Clora, Laura, Mary, Tennessee and Stella.
