Robert Dansie born the 5th of May 1850 in a house at Boxford, Suffolk, England.
FATHER-Robert Dansie Sr., --born the 5th of February 1825 in Boxford, Suffolk, England. His father was James Dansie and Mother was Sarah Chenery both born in the same town Boxford, Suffolk, England.
MOTHER--Charlotte Rudland born the (10 Feb 1829) 3rd May 1829(chr. date) in Newton, Suffolk, England. Her father William Rudland born in Newton, Suffolk, England. Her mother Mrs. Susan (maiden name unknown) Rudland born in the same town Newton, Suffolk, England.
BLESSING--When blessed as an infant in the Church of England.
BAPTISM--The 6th of February 1868 at Herriman, Utah, Salt Lake County and confirmed at Herriman by W.C. Crump February 6, 1868.
SCHOOLING--In the grades in England.
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES--He was twelve years old when he left England with his parents for the United States of America. They crossed the Atlantic in the ship "CONSTELATION", and landed in New York. They rested a few days then started for the West. They crossed the plains in the COMPANY OF ANSEL P. HARMON. He walked most of the way across the plains arriving in Salt Lake City, Utah October 5, 1862. His mother died September 21, 1862 of childbirth. A son Joseph born just lived a short life and was buried with her at Pacific Springs, Wyoming, leaving five children Robert being the eldest. His childhood memories of playing down the lanes of England fun and laughter were fon and longings of happiness.
CHURCH ACTIVITIES--He attended the church activities during the period of his home life with his Father, who became Bishop of the Herriman Ward. Also schooled in the Gospel standard in, the home and at church at that time of years. He was one who was blessed to assist in bringing emigrants from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Salt Lake City, Utah. He kept the fast donations for years in Riverton.
ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD* Ordained to the office of an Elder by George Reynolds and John McCubester February 16, 1869. Ordained a Seventy February 10, 1884 by William H. Freeman.
HEALTH--His health was good and enjoyable.
GOODTIMES--Most of his life the joy and happiness was in the home life and activities in the Church entertainments, which he enjoyed along with his family. Not much time for play. He read mostly church gooks at that time and loved to follow the current events in the daily news paper.
HOME LIFE--In the United States of America his father bought a farm plot, which he divided among the boys, who farmed his portion. His foster Mother Jane Wilcox was very dear to him, she was very understanding. She gave them their places in the home according to their ages, then her children came accordingly. Happiness prevailed in there home life. There were the following in his family as follows: John Alfred, Charles Nephi, Sarah Ann, William Heber, and Joseph (died). Half brothers and sisters as follows: James Wilcox, George Henry, Francis Hyrum, Benjamin Wilcox, Isabella Jane, Eliza Hellen, Charlotte Lamenia, Ada Amelia, Alma Haleman, Rosea Clarissie.
He took up a farm at the mouth of Butterfield Canyon. He engaged in farming and stock and sheep raising. He married Roseina Silcock March 22, 1875 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he had been married four and a half years or in the year 1879 his wife died, leaving him with two small children. Named as follows: Charlotte Jane, Robert Maroni, and Alma, who died at birth Oct 10, 1879.
He sold his property in Herriman and moved to Riverton, Utah, leaving his children with their grandmother Silcock and he went out with his sheep.
In 1880 he bought a home in Riverton, Utah, and married Paulina Slcock, to this union twelve child
