James CHITWOOD 
James was born on August 12th, 1710 in , Northumberland, Virginia. James' father was Matthias CHITWOOD (MATTHIS) and his mother is Mary KEY. His paternal grandfather is Thomas CHETWOOD; his maternal grandparents are Richard KEY and Mary Cartwright. He had six brothers and a sister, named Richard Chetwood, Matthias .Jr., John, William, John, Richard and Eliner. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 70 on October 14th, 1780 in Near Sunshine, Rutherford, North Carolina. He was buried on October 15th, 1780 in Biggerstaff Cem, Near Sunshine, Rutherford, North Carolina.General Notes
