William Cheatwood 
William was born in 1716 in Virginia. William's father was Matthias CHITWOOD (MATTHIS) and his mother is Mary KEY. His paternal grandfather is Thomas CHETWOOD; his maternal grandparents are Richard KEY and Mary Cartwright. He had six brothers and a sister, named Richard Chetwood, Matthias .Jr., John, James, John, Richard and Eliner. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 71 in 1787 in Chesterfield Co.,Virginia.General Notes
