Isaac was born on January 31st, 1803 in , Marion Co., (wva) Virginia. Isaac's father was John II ASHCRAFT and his mother was Elizabeth ROBINS. His paternal grandparents were John (Old) ASHCRAFT and Charity Beeson; his maternal grandparents were Brintnell ROBBINS and Mary BOARDMAN. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Ezekiel, John J, Nathaniel, Catherine, Charity, Abigail, Rachel and Polly. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died in , , Indiana.
