Louis was born in 1120 in France.¹ Louis' father was Louis King Of France and his mother was Adelaide De Maurienne. His paternal grandparents were Philippe Capet and Bertha Von Holland; his maternal grandparents were Humbert De Maurienne and Gisela De Bourgogne. He had four brothers and a sister, named Philip, Robert, Henry, Peter and Constance. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 60 on September 18th, 1180 in Paris, Seine, , France. He was buried on September 19th, 1180 in Abbey Barbeaux, Melun, France.²¹
