Peter was born in 1126 in Reims, France.1   Peter's father was Louis King Of France and his mother was Adelaide De Maurienne.  His paternal grandparents were Philippe Capet and Bertha Von Holland; his maternal grandparents were Humbert De Maurienne and Gisela De Bourgogne. He had four brothers and a sister, named Philip, Louis, Robert, Henry and Constance.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 57 on April 10th, 1183 in Palestine.1

‌Peter and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1151 in Angoulême, Aquitaine, Charente, France.2   They had a son and three daughters, named Peter, Alice, Constance and Eustachia.
