Elen (Helena) was born in 1220 in Caernarvonshire, Wales.1   Elen (Helena)'s father was Llewelyn Fawr Ap Iorweth and her mother was Joan Fitzjohn.  Her paternal grandparents were Iorwerth Drwyndwn Ap Owain and Marered (Margaret) Ferch Madog; her maternal grandparents were John Plantagenet and Agatha De Ferrers. She had a brother and five sisters, named Dafydd, Angharad, Margaret, Tegwared-Y-Bais Wed, Margred Verch and Gwladus Ddu. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Gruffydd, Gwladys Ddu, Margaret and Helen.  She died at the age of 33 in 1253 in In Childbirth, Child Also Died.  She was buried in Chester, Chestershire, England.1

‌Elen (Helena) and Robert were married in a religious ceremony in 1237 in Caernarvonshire, Wales.1   They had two daughters named Margaret and Hawise.
