Hugues was born in Paris, Seine, France.1   Hugues' father was Robert Capet and his mother was Beatrix (Beatrice) De Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Rutpert  (Robert) UNKNOWN and Adelaide (Aenis) De Tours; his maternal grandparents were Herbert De Vermandois and Bertha (Beatrice) De Morvois. He had a brother and a sister, named Robert and Emma. He had two half-sisters named Adela and Richilde.  He died in Dourdan, , France.  He was buried in St Denis Abbey, St Denis, Seine, France.2 3

‌Hugues and Edhilda were married in a religious ceremony in 0926 in Mainz O Der, Switzerland.4 


Hugues' second family with Hedwig Avoie-Hatbruide

‌Hugues and Hedwig were married in a religious ceremony in Mainz Oder, Ingelheim, Germany.5   They had four sons and four daughters, named Herbert, Hugh, Otto (Odo) Henry 'The Great', Henry, Béatrice, Beatrix, Beatrice and Emma.
