Emma was born in 0943 in Paris, France.  Emma's father was Hugues Capet and her mother was Hedwig Avoie-Hatbruide.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Capet and Beatrix (Beatrice) De Vermandois; her maternal grandparents were Heinrich (Henry) Von Babenberg and Matilda Von Ringelheim. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Herbert, Hugh, Otto (Odo) Henry 'The Great', Henry, Béatrice, Beatrix and Beatrice.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.


Emma's first family with Richard Moriton

‌Emma and Richard were married in a religious ceremony in 0960 in France.1 


Emma's second family with William D'aquitaine

‌Emma and William were married in a religious ceremony about 0968.  They had two sons and two daughters, named William, Ebles, Hildegarde De Metz De Lorraine and Pavie.
