Janetie was born in 1621 in Ultrecht, Holland.1 Janetie's father was Casper Varleth and her mother was Judith Tentenier. Her paternal grandparents were Nicolaes Varleth and Francina Jacobs; her maternal grandfather was Abraham Tentenier. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Abraham, Nicholas, Jacobus, Mary, Maria, Judith, Catharina, Anna and Sarah. She was the second oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 65 in 1686 in Bohemia Manor, Cecil County, Maryland. She was buried in Garden Of Bohemia Manor.1 1 General Notes
