Adelaide was born about 1020 in Falaise, Calvados, Normandie, France.1   Adelaide's father was Robert "The Magnificent" de Normandie and her mother was Herleve de Mortaigne. She had two brothers and a sister, named Robert II de, Guillaume de and Godiva de.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Robert de, Odo de, Muriel de, Emma de and Mathilde de.1
