Thomas Stradling 
Thomas was born about 1500 in St. Donats, Glamorgan, Wales.1 Thomas' father was Edward Stradling and his mother was Elizabeth Arundell. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stradling and Janet Mathew; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Arundel and Catherine Dynham. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, David, Catherine and Jane. He died in 1573.1 General Notes

Heir to the estate of St. Donat's on his father's death in 1535,he was sheriff
of Glamorgan 1547-8, and knighted by Edward VI in 1549. Commissioner for the
Marches, MP for East Grinstead, Commissioner for the suppression of heretics,
1558. Himself accused of heresy in 1559 and sent to the Towerof London by
Queen Elizabeth, he was released on a bond of 1000 marks, and the case
apparently was not prosecuted further.
