Roger De St. John 
Roger De was born about 1221 in Lageham, Surrey, England.1 Roger De's father was John De St. John and his mother was Emma De Harcourt. His paternal grandparents were Roger De St. John and Cecily De Lucy; his maternal grandfather was Richard Harcourt. He had a half-brother named John Le. He died on August 4th, 1265 in Battle Of Evesham, Worcestershire, England.1 General Notes

Sir ROGER DE SAINT JOHN, son and heir, was still a minor in 1235, but of age in 1242-43. In his early manhood he was in evident connection with the Court, and (like his mother) had gifts of deer from the King. He was going with the King to Gascony in 1253; was a knight by 1256; was summoned in August 1260 for service against Llewelyn (and again in May 1263); and in October 1261, to London with all possible forces, in a matter touching the King and Crown. Already in 1258 his sympathies were plainly with the baronial reformers. After the Baronial victory at Lewes (14 May 1264), Roger was of the Council; in December was appointed keeper of Oxford castle, and summoned to (de Montfort's) Parliament. In June 1265, as the King's secretary, he was empowered, with Simon de Montfort, to treat with Llewelyn.
He probably married a niece of his guardian and stepfather, a sister of Hugh LE DESPENSER the Justiciar, who was son of Hugh LE DESPENSER and father of Hugh (LE DESPENSER), EARL OF WINCHESTER. He was slain at Evesham, 4 August 1265. [Complete Peerage XI:348, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
