Aaron L was born about 1819 in PA.1 Aaron L's father was Matthias Scriven and his mother was Anna Sabin. His paternal grandparents were William Scriven and Mary Mosher; his maternal grandparents were Stephen Sabin and Mary Ann Mosher. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Matthias, Benjamin, Stephen B, Sabin, Amasa, Oliver Gilbert, Joseph, Tacy, Annis and Eunice.
