The Brothers of Gov. Crapo Camp No. 145 elected David T. Wallace of Burton, Commander on 19 November 1998. He was installed as Commander on 16 January 1999. Brother Wallace is the Camp's sixth Commander.
Brother Wallace traces his Civil War ancestry from Caleb Henry Powell, his Third Great Grandfather, who enlisted in the 1st Michigan Light Artillery February 25, 1864 and was discharged July 30, 1865. Comrade Powell was born in Oneida County, New York on May 24, 1830, and died May 27, 1895, in Linden, Michigan.
Brother Wallace has served in many Camp Offices including Secretary, Junior Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander and Chaplain. Brother Wallace has served as Treasurer for the Department of Michigan and is currently the Department's Patriotic Instructor.
Brother Wallace is a member of the Flint Genealogical Society and is an elected Board of Education member for the Bendle Public Schools.
