Barnabas was born in 1730 in Westbury, Nassau, New York.1 Barnabas' father was Stephen Hicks and his mother was Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Hicks and Hannah Carpenter. He had a brother named Jacob. He had two half-sisters named Elizabeth and Margaret. He died at the age of 94 in 1824.General Notes
