Sarah was born on September 11th, 1636 in Ware, Hertfordshire, England.1 Sarah's father was Richard Platt and her mother was Mary Wood. Her paternal grandparents were George Platt and Mary Sell; her maternal grandparents were John Wood and Jane. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Isaac, Samuel, Epenetus, Josiah, Joseph, John, Mary and Hannah.
