Robert De Courtenay Baron was born in 1170 in Okehampton, Devonshire, England.1 Robert De Courtenay Baron's father was Renaud II Lord De Courtney and his mother was Hawise De Courcy. His paternal grandparents were Renaud Seigneur De Courtenay and Hawise De Donjon; his maternal grandparents were William De Courcy Baron Of Okehampton and Maud D'Avranches. He had two brothers and a sister, named Reginald, Henry and Egelina. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 72 on July 26th, 1242 in Iwerne, Dorset, England.
