Thurstan was born about 1292 in ,Up Holland, Lancashire, England.1 Thurstan's father was Robert I de Holand and his mother was Elizabeth de Salmesbury. His paternal grandparents were Thurstan De Holland and Maud de Kellet; his maternal grandparents were William de Salmesbury and Avina de Notton.
