Her paternal grandparents were Thurstan De Holland and Maud de Kellet; her maternal grandparents were William de Salmesbury and Avina de Notton. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert II de, Thurstan, Avena de, Johanna and Margaret de. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had a half-sister named Jane de.
