William "The Bastard" de was born about 0958 in , Eu, Seine-et-Maritime, France.1   William "The Bastard" de's father was Richard "The Hardy" De Normandie and his mother was Gonnor De Crepon.  His paternal grandparents were William I "Long Sword" De Normandie and Alix De Vermandois; his maternal grandparents were Herbastus De Crepon and Gunhild Von Denmark. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Geoffrey de, Robert, Mauger, Richard "The Good" de, Havlive De, Matilda, Emma, Pappia de and Béatrix de. He had three half-sisters named Beatrix von, Malgar de and Fredesende de.1
