Alice was born about 1265 in Of Sefton, Lardbrook, Lancashire, England.1   Alice's father was Marmaduke Twenge and her mother was Isabel De Ros.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Thwenge and Hugnesina Thwenge; her maternal grandparents were Robert De Ros IV Baron Ros and Isabel de Albini. She had two half-brothers named Robert and Marmaduke.
