William Cowper 
William was born about 1560.1 William's father was John Cowper and his mother was Elizabeth Ironsides. His paternal grandparents were William Cowper and Margaret Spencer; his maternal grandfather was John Ironsides. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Edward, John, Nicholas, Richard, Elizabeth, Katherine and Judith. He was the oldest of the eight children.General Notes
