Margery was born about 1380 in Barton, Cheshire, England.1   Margery's father was John Booth and her mother was Joanna De Trafford.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Booth Lord of Barton and Elena Worseley; her maternal grandparents were Henry De Trafford and Margery Ince.  She was an only child.

‌Margery and John were married in a religious ceremony about 1442 in Clayton, Lancashire, England.1   They had three sons and five daughters, named Richard, Nicholas, Ralph, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jane, Helena and Catherine.
