H.F. Seversmith 1939, Colonial Families of Long Island, New York, and Connecticut, Being the Ancestry and kindred of Herbert Furman Seversmith, vol. 1, p. 254. Resided at Prestwood in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. 1528 he sued Henry Benning, Robert Woodward and Drew Gardener all for trespass. In the same year he sued John Gardener, Henry Benning and Robert Woodward for cutting grass on his close at Prestwood. 1533 he sued John Gynger and John Golder saying they had taken his beasts and not returned them. On 25 May 1533 he charged that they had taken eleven of his pigs. Also this year he and three others charged that Thomas Saunders of Agmondesham (Amersham) and Rowland Hudson of Great Hampden had caused 10 marks damage on their closes by pasturing cattle and plowing the land. On the other hand Hugh Baldweyn of Prestwood was among several indiviudals who were charged with a similar offense of knocking down hedges and using the herbage of Robert Hyll in Great Missenden and Hughenden. 1534 Hugh Baldwyn was charged with pasturing his cattle upon the property of Thomas Bukmaster. Similarly charged by John Gardener.
