Jonathon William was born on February 10th, 1865 in Illinois.1 Jonathon William's father was John Caspar Anthes and his mother was Louisa Fredericka Just. His paternal grandparents were Christian Wilhelm Anthes and Anna Maria Schmidt; his maternal grandparents were John F. Just and Milbrought. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John Frederick, David H., Samuel William, Wilhelmina, Anna Mary, Sarah Anna, Martha Elizabeth and Emma Louise. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 80 on March 7th, 1945. He was buried in Audubon IA.1 1 General Notes
