Thomas was born about 1727 in ,Baltimore,Maryland. Thomas' father was Morgan MURRAY and his mother was Sarah Hawkins. His paternal grandparents were James MURRAY and Jemima MORGAN; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Hawkins and Elizabeth Griffith. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, Morgan, James, Sarah and Sarah. He was the third youngest of the seven children.-
