Patience was born in 1734 in Middleboro,Plymouth,Mass. Patience's father was John MAYO and her mother was Susannah FREEMAN. Her maternal grandparents were James Freeman and Sarah Merrick. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuell, John, Prence, Benjamin, Rebecca, Susannah, Marcy, Hannah and Mary. She was the youngest of the ten children.
