John King was born on January 17th, 1838 in Newton or Benton Co.,AR.1 John King's father was Martin Terry Rev. and his mother was Mary Ann Reed. His paternal grandparents were William Terry and Barbara Ennis. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Joseph, Henderson Lafferty, Lorenzo Dow, Finis Ewen, James Miller, Milburn Monroe, Millard Fillmore, Sarah, Polly Ann, Elizabeth and Jane. He was the second oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 80 on March 5th, 1918 in Barry Co.,MO. He was buried in E. Purdy,Barry Co.,MO.1 1 General Notes
