His paternal grandparents were Edmund Stafford, Earl of Stafford and Anne Plantagent Countess of Stafford Countess o; his maternal grandparents were Ralph Neville Earl of Westmoreland Earl of We and Joan Beaufort, Countess of Westmoreland.
