William Ennis 
William was born on August 6th, 1840 in Madison Co.,AR.1 William's father was Elisha Ennis and his mother was Matilda Terry. His paternal grandfather was Zacariah Ennis; his maternal grandparents were William Terry and Barbara Ennis. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Martin, John F.S., James Wesley, Lorenzo Dow, Thomas Frederick, Miles Terry, Willis Lyons, Francis Green, Amanda Jane and Mary Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 75 on January 21st, 1916.1 General Notes

Served in Union Army in Co. A, 1st Arkansas Cavalry under Col. LaRue Harrison, was wounded 18 October 1864 at Fayetteville, AK, and was discharged at Fayetteville.
