John was born about 1598 in poss ENG. John's father was James (Jr) Cowels and his mother was Mrs. Ann Cowels. His paternal grandfather was James (Sr) Cowels. He was an only child. He died on September 15th, 1685 in Hadley,Hampshire,MA.
John and Mehitable were married in a religious ceremony about 1638 in Farmington,Farmington,CT. They had two sons and five daughters, named Samuel, John, Hannah, Sarah, Esther, Mary and Elizabeth.

John Cowels

Sarah was born on February 8th, 1646 in Hartford,Hartford,CT. She died at the age of 30 on July 8th, 1676.
